Why Am I Feeling Alone? (And How to Come Back to Yourself)

Why Am I Feeling Alone? (And How to Come Back to Yourself)

A deeper exploration inspired by Episode #470 of the Personal Development Unplugged Podcast

We all feel alone at times. That sense of isolation can feel heavy, confusing, and sometimes even frightening. But here’s the surprising truth:

Loneliness is rarely the real problem — it’s often a symptom of an unconscious attempt to protect you.

In this week’s episode, I dive into why loneliness appears, why it sticks around longer than we want it to, and how we can gently guide ourselves back to connection and comfort.

You Are Never Truly Alone — You’re Always With Yourself

Years ago, during a difficult period, I wrote a simple sentence in my journal:

“You’re never alone. You’re never by yourself.
You’re always with yourself.”

It was meant as a reminder — not to be afraid of loneliness, but to reconnect with the one person who never leaves: you.

Because when we lose rapport with ourselves, everything begins to wobble.

When we rebuild that connection, everything begins to shift.

How Loneliness Protects Us (Even When It Hurts)

No one chooses to feel isolated.
We don’t wake up and select “misery” from a menu.

But your unconscious mind — the part that runs your memories, your emotions, your habits — often thinks it’s protecting you by withdrawing you from the world.

It closes the door to prevent hurt…
but closes every other door at the same time.

That’s why loneliness feels so stuck.
Not because you’re weak — but because your unconscious is trying (badly!) to help.

We can change that.

The Power of Better Questions

When we feel low or lost, our mind automatically asks:

  • “Why me?”

  • “Why is this happening?”

  • “What’s wrong with me?”

  • “Why won’t this end?”

Those questions only create more pain.
Your unconscious goes searching for evidence that matches the question — and it finds it.

But when you ask better questions, everything changes:

  • “How can I feel comfortable again?”

  • “What small step would help?”

  • “How can I reconnect?”

  • “How have I gotten through this before?”

  • “Who can help me?”

Better questions open better emotional pathways.
Better emotional pathways create better choices.
Better choices create a better life.

The Hypnosis Process — Refined and Reimagined

The episode contains a gentle, powerful hypnosis session designed to help you:

✔ reconnect with your inner comfort
✔ dissolve the emotional heaviness
✔ invite your unconscious mind to find better solutions
✔ rediscover memories of connection and peace
✔ imagine a future where you feel at home in yourself

This process is safe, soft, and deeply healing.

Listen when you can close your eyes and go inward.
